This reminds me of the mantra "fail fast". I'd also apply a "one way door or two way door" approach to this thinking based on the irreversibility of the approach at hand.
One of the principles I try to get product teams to adopt is strong opinions loosely held. I can’t imagine being successful as a PM without having a strong POV. Great article as usual.
