I wrote this article in response to a product leadership change while handling a product strategy refresh. At the time, I had directional unknowns piled on to the mid-year product strategy update.
I felt stuck on updating the product strategy with the change of leadership. The product strategy frameworks weren’t any help since my product is mature.
At this point, I found Product Strategy and Roadmapping by Steven Haines. Steven provided a method to map your product’s market to your product’s performance.
Below is one of the examples that I prepared for my market baseline:
