The Problem This Side Project Solved
My product team does a good bit of custom work. Customizing the product, in my case, is good because it drives the size of a sale up. However, the time to set up new customers needed multiple meetings on when the customer’s subscription term started.
I wrote a few principles to see if there was agreement on a standard for:
the start and end of the subscription term
handling of expansions
handling of renewals
I was surprised that the product team had multiple understandings of these definitions!
