What Prompted this Article?

I had several weeks of product initiative meetings with no conclusion. I’m talking about meetings that go in verbal repeat cycles for an hour or more. Exhausting.

I ended most days thinking, “I need to take a stand”.

What was holding me back? The usual product management caution flags:

  • No relationship with new team members

  • Senior leadership changes

  • Merging multiple product initiatives

  • Sales kickoff in a few months

I was afraid of rocking the boat.

I decided to write a point-of-view slide deck to cut through dramatic meetings. I hoped to focus on delivery so we could announce something at the sales kickoff.
