What Prompted this Article?

Has a coworker ever canceled a meeting because they just got an urgent project from a big boss? It is so easy to cancel a meeting and let coworkers know you are handling a very important project!

There are consequences to taking the easy out. Everything from damaged relationships to missed deadlines to lost opportunities.

I wrote this article when I *almost* canceled a meeting in response to a new executive request. Instead, I kept the meeting and got inside information for the executive request.

Throwing myself 100% at a new initiative has been very troublesome in my product management experience. I fight with myself to keep progress going on all my projects instead of going deep on something new.
